Hyggelit House through the years…

FAQs
Here are some frequently asked questions
What year was she built?
We know she’s not on the 1888 map and she is on the 1896 one, marked H. Taylor. She retains her beautiful slate roof, beautiful wood trim, plaster ceiling medallions and other original details.
What kind of roofing?
Hyggelit House retains her beautiful slate roof which has been serviced and recently inspected. Porch and bay window roofs are copper, as are the south and east gutters. North and west fiberglass gutters installed May 2026. There’s a tiny flat tar roof over the mudroom.
Was her original interior wood trim preserved?
Hygge House is full of rich dark brown decorative wood trim including a gorgeous newell post, two flights of ornate bannister spindles, and more. While many interior doors have been removed to open up her flow, most of them are preserved for future owners’ potential use.
